Cookies and Cream is the 2nd flavor of Grenade’s Carb Killa protein bar. The first and original flavor was Charamel Chaos (which I already reviewed here).

But let’s move on to the Cookies & Cream.

Macros & Ingredients: 9/10

A high protein low carb bar, with low sugar content, Grenade’s Carb Killa Cookies & Cream is a great treat for anyone watching their diet.

The low carb count (1.5 impact carbs) means you can fit it in your low carb diet, while also rejoicing the fact that you’re eating a candy bar with just 217 calories.

It has soy, which I don’t like, as it is an inferior source of protein.

Taste: 9/10

Cookies & Cream Carb Killa looks and tastes a lot like Caramel Chaos in the sense that’s it’s like eating a candy bar. Caramel Chaos subdued me with its decadent mix of chocolate and charamel, and Cookies & Cream gives you the same feeling.

Real milk chocolate coating
As you bite it, the first flavor that gets you is the milk chocolate coating. This is real milk chocolate, and it has crumbly bits of cookies in it.

As you crunch below you’ll have the caramel and cookie base (more on that later), but even then the milk chocolate can hold you for a moment in all its glory.

Lots of cream, less cookies
The milk chocolate coating is great and doesn’t overpower the cookies and cream part of the flavor.

From the chocolate top, you go into a layer of caramel that opens the doors to the big chocolatey milky creme core, mixed in with cookie bits and which makes up most of the bar.

The cookie bits, while not abundant, mix in well with the big cream layer, and delight you when you feel them in your mouth.

This cream and cookie paste with a layer of caramel and topped by the chocolate coating with crushed cookie bits in it makes this combination work quite well.

Overall rating: 8/10

Grenade’s Carb Killa Cookies & Cream is a triple layered 60g protein bar in a crunchy biscuit base with nougat chocolate creme over it, followed by a layer of caramel and topped by a crumbly crushed cookie coated with real milk chocolate.

It tastes like a candy bar but it has only 217 calories, 23g of protein, 1.5g of (impact) carbs and less than 1.5g of sugar.

Cookies & Cream proves that Grenade didn’t just got lucky with Caramel Chaos. As protein bars goes, this is one of the few that tastes like a real chocolate bar, it’s a real treat, and if it fits your macros, better.
